United Rugby Championship Final: Leinster still leading Bulls in Dublin

Leinster putting the pressure on again.

Five metres out and Marco van Staden is pinged for the no arms tackle.

Sam Prendergast gets a quick opportunity to cancel out that previous miss…and he does.

Today’s attendance has just been announced as 46,127.

A brilliant turnout and those in attendance have made their voices heard.

That’s the end of the evening for De Klerk, a disappointing end to a strong season for the winger.

Williams comes on to take his place while Ross Byrne and Fintan Gunne look to be ready to come on for Leinster.

McGrath puts up another testing box kick but De Klerk does really well to gather it cleanly.

It sparks a bit of kick tennis and now De Klerk looks to be in bother as he challenges for the next one with Tommy O’Brien.

Sam Prendergast’s kicking has been called into question at points, particularly in last week’s semi-final.

He has been much better today but that is a poor miss off the tee. Every point matters especially in a final.

After coming away with nothing last time, on this visit to the 22, Leinster opt for the points this time.

Oh but it’s wide of the mark from Sam Prendergast.

He’d have expected to knock that over with little bother.

Leinster go for the tap and go this time…

Oh but they knock it on.

A missed opportunity for Leinster to ice this one.

Leinster go to the tail and get real momentum round the corner.

They can’t get over but we come back for a Bulls offside.

And they don’t have to wait long for a fifth!

Next scrum, next penalty and Andrew Porter is fired up!

That feels both a big moment and another fearsome show of Leinster’s depth.

They’ll have a line-out five metres out.

Just as the Bulls scrum seemed to be getting an edge, Leo Cullen calls for Rabah Slimani and Dan Sheehan.

Instant impact!

The new front row gets the scrum penalty. That’s Leinster’s fourth today!

But this Leinster defence is all over it again.

It’s a brilliant counter-ruck from Snyman that does the damage and the ball is knocked forward.

The Bulls scrum is just starting to get a bit more momentum now.

They win a penalty against the head and go down the line again.

They were never going to be nilled were they? Nobody expected it to take 50 minutes but the Bulls power finally comes to the fore.

Some Bulls flags pop up in the far corner. I didn’t even know they were there until just now!

This time the maul does get over!

The Bulls drive forward and get plenty of momentum before Akker van der Merwe crashes through Jordie Barrett and over the line.

Can they get another quick score now to really make this interesting?

Leinster are called for collapsing the maul and it seems to be Andrew Porter who committed the offence.

Bulls go back to the corner.

A nice cheer for Cian Healy there as the retiring prop’s face pops up on the big screen.

Not involved today but what a career he’s had in blue and green.

Canan Moodie isn’t getting any ball and when he does he’s not doing the right thing with it.

A tale of two replacements there

Akker van der Merwe’s first throw from touch is pinched by Snyman.

Another misfire for the Bulls.

No hesitation in calling for the tee there and Leinster are move beyond three converted scores clear.

RG Snyman got a big cheer as he came on but James Ryan limping off will be a concern for Andy Farrell and the Lions.

Let’s hope it is merely precautionary and the big second row does not follow Zander Fagerson in dropping out of the tour.
