Premier League
Since leaving Tottenham in 2017, Kyle Walker has made 319 appearances for Manchester City, claiming 73 clean sheets, six goals and 23 assists.
Across his entire Premier League career, from 410 appearances he has claimed 130 clean sheets and conceded 373 goals. He has also registered 36 assists, averaged 57.16 passes per match and made 2.24 crosses per match with a cross accuracy of 18%.
Speaking in January, Guardiola said that City would not have achieved as much as they have if they did not have Walker.
“We cannot understand [what] the club did these years without Kyle, it’s impossible,” he said. “He’s been our right-back, giving us something we didn’t have.”
Kyle Walker had been in and out of the Manchester City team during the first half of the season, making 18 appearances in all competitions.
Then after being left out of the squad for City’s FA Cup win over Salford in January, coach Pep Guardiola revealed: “Two days ago Kyle asked to explore the options to play abroad.
“In his mind, for many reasons, he would like to explore if he can go to another country to play his last years.”
Guardiola added that Walker had previously asked to leave after City’s Treble success in 2023 and although Bayern Munich were interested, the German club failed to agree a free with City.
Asked if Walker would be granted his wish in January, Guardiola said: “Of course. It doesn’t mean it’s going to happen because you never know the situation.”
This time Walker was able to agree a loan move to AC Milan for the remainder of the season.

Manchester City have won the Premier League title in six of the nine seasons that coach Pep Guardiola has been in charge and Kyle Walker is one of six players who played in each of those title wins.
City paid an initial £45m to sign Walker from Tottenham before Guardiola’s second season in charge and helped the Blues win back-to-back titles, followed by a record four-in-a-row from 2020-24.
That run included winning the FA Cup and Champions League for an historic Treble in 2022-23, and City added the Uefa Super Cup and Fifa Club World Cup later that year.
Walker also helped City win the League Cup four times and the FA Cup twice (in 2019 as well as 2023).
One of the leading transfer stories doing the rounds today concerns the future of Kyle Walker, with the veteran England defender linked to a move to Everton from Manchester City.
Walker has long been one of the Premier League’s best full backs and was a key figure in some great moments for City under Pep Guardiola – but what does the future hold now…

There has been some consternation of Tyneside over the club’s lack of transfer movement this summer.
But they are reportedly looking to open talks with Brighton over striker Joao Pedro, and Nottingham Forest for winger Anthony Elanga.
Atletico Madrid
Atletico Madrid are monitoring Aston Villa and France full-back Lucas Digne, report the Times.

Napoli
Napoli are moving to sign English winger Jadon Sancho from Manchester United, report Sky Sports Italy.
Sancho spent last season on loan at Chelsea, scoring five goals and providing 10 assists, however the Blues paid a £5 million penalty fee not to sign him permanently.
But he may have a route out of Old Trafford with the Italian champions reportedly keen.
Manchester City and England defender Kyle Walker has agreed to join Everton on a one-year deal, according to The Sun.
The Premier League clubs are said to be working out whether it will be a loan or a permanent transfer.
Walker spent the second half of last season on loan at AC Milan and was left out of their squad for the Club World Cup so seems to have very little future at City.

Crystal Palace are on the brink of signing PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper Walter Benitez on a free transfer.
Benitez, whose contract with the Dutch club expires this month, has completed a medical and Palace will announce the signing once all the relevant documents have been completed.
The Argentina goalkeeper, 32, was an ever-present in PSV’s league campaign as they won the Eredivisie title, beating Ajax to the trophy by a point.
Benitez started 11 of PSV’s 12 Champions League fixtures last term as they reached the last 16, where they were defeated 9-3 on aggregate by Arsenal.
Benitez will compete with Palace’s current first-choice keeper Dean Henderson, who started for England in last week’s 3-1 friendly defeat to Senegal at the City Ground.
