Manchester United have rarely seen the ball for any notable length of time after 10 minutes.
Spurs are first to everything, something which will certainly please Ange Postecoglou. Son Heung-Min is on the shoulder of the last Manchester United defender but can’t beat Andre Onana to a ball over the top.

A good run from Djed Spence. He has been exciting, he’s better at going forward than he is defending.

Chants of “We want Levy out” have begun from the 17,000-fan South Stand early into this match.
It follows the protests before kick-off as fan anger grows with Tottenham 15th in the Premier League table.
There will also be a sit-down protest after the match as fans will stay late in their seats to put pressure on the Enic ownership group.
It’s all Tottenham for now.
Son Heung-Min whips in a tasty cross from the left as Manchester United struggle to get going. Djed Spence then gets to send in a ball from a similar spot after Spurs recycle it, but there’s nobody waiting at the back post.
Noussair Mazraoui tackles through the back of James Maddison as Spurs earn a free-kick midway into the Manchester United half.
Alejandro Garnacho makes a bit of a meal of trying to clear the ball, but United do survive without any scares.

Over 1000 people attended a pre-match protest against chairman Daniel Levy and the Enic ownership group, which is majority owned by the Lewis family trust.
The largely peaceful protest was the largest of its kind as supporters expressed anger in North London with the club 15th in the Premier League and out of both domestic cup competitions.
Spokesperson for Change for Tottenham Jay Coughlin told
BBC Sport: “I think all of the fans are done with how the club is being run –
we want to be winning on the field – there are positives off the field, but we
deserve better on it.
“There has been how
many managers and how many trophies? We deserve better. Everything leads back
to one person as all these managers have not been backed sufficiently and there
is a track record with this ownership.
“For us, there is
no change with Daniel Levy (still in charge). There has been promises but it is always the same.
We just want him gone. This will grow
until we get what we need, or our voices are heard.”
Lynden Wade, one of the founders, added: “We ultimately want Levy out but we
know with the shares he has in Tottenham that it may not be realistic but there
are other things that could change to make a positive impact for the fans.”
The Tottenham fans are getting behind the home side with chants of ‘Come on you Spurs’ as Ange Postecoglou’s men make the more positive start, without really going anywhere.

This will not be a 0-0.
Both teams are open and they’re not good defensively.
Tottenham get on the ball and look to try and dictate the tempo of the opening stages from the off. It will be interesting to see whether Manchester United will look to absorb pressure or go after the hosts in this first half.
Away we go then!
Who knows what the next 90 minutes plus have in store…

Tottenham are unbeaten in their last four Premier League games against Manchester United, winning twice and drawing twice.
Following their 3-0 victory at Old Trafford, they can complete the league double over United for the first time since 1989-90.
Spurs have already beaten Manchester United twice this season, also winning 4-3 in the EFL Cup quarter-finals in December.
The 1989-90 season was also the last time Spurs managed to beat United as many as three times in a single campaign, while United have not lost to an opponent three times in a season since 2012-13.

United seem to perform better when we’re underdogs and we’re definitely not the favourites today.

Here come the players now.
There’s a warm embrace between Ange Postecoglou and Ruben Amorim on the touchline before kick-off.
In all, there are seven players from the Manchester United academy in Ruben Amorim’s squad after this week’s injuries and illnesses.
Chido Obi, Harry Amass, Sekou Kone, Elyh Harrison, Jack Moorhouse, Jack Fletcher, Tyler Fredricson. It could be a massive day for one of them.

Ruben Amorim came in and ripped it up – he wants to do it his way.
He sticks to his way – he’s an entertaining manager, but he has to start winning football matches.

Ruben Amorim and Ange Postecoglou have been criticised for sticking rigidly to their distinctive footballing philosophies – and naturally they were both asked by the media on Friday about each other’s struggles.
Amorim said he was a “huge fan” of Australian Postecoglou, and had “sympathy” for him “because he is a good guy, a good coach and he wants to play football in the right way”.
“We are not winning games and I understand the connection with me and Ange – we have the same problems. With all due respect, I am at a bigger club, with bigger pressure,” Amorim said.
Meanwhile, Postecoglou backed his Manchester United counterpart, saying the club would “absolutely see progress” if they stick with Amorim for “two years”.
“Manchester United have scouted him and identified him by looking at the way he does business. You bring him in with a purpose. We all get judged on results, I get that. If you are in my position or where Ruben is now, you are going to get scrutiny – but I don’t think that means you are not coaching or managing well,” said Postecoglou.

has come over here with a humble approach. The guy’s back is against the wall.
As a Spurs fan I still back Ange, but today the team have to show their mettle with injuries lessening. No room for excuses today I’m afraid!

It has felt over recent years as though at least one of these two clubs is in some sort of crisis/meltdown/other whenever they meet.
Spurs’ 3-0 win at Old Trafford last September piled the pressure on Erik ten Hag, who was sacked one month later.
That was roughly three years after Manchester United’s 3-0 win in London temporarily eased the pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and proved Nuno Espirito Santo’s final Spurs match in charge.
Another desperate day for either club would only serve to further sour the mood among the respective fanbases, wherever they may feel the blame ultimately lies.
