6.1 earthquake in Nicaragua

The US Geological Survey (USGS) announced that the epicenter of the earthquake, which occurred at a depth of 21.7 kilometers, was about 56 kilometers south of the Corinto region.

It was shared that the citizens took to the streets and the passengers at the airport were evacuated from the terminal in the earthquake that was also felt in the capital Managua.

No loss of life or property has been reported about the earthquake so far.

The country is located in the earthquake generation called “Pacific Ring of Fire”, where seismic activity is heavy.

On July 8, 2000, a 5.9 magnitude earthquake in Nicaragua killed 12 people.
