Iran bans entries from 4 countries due to Omicron

Precautions have been increased due to the increase in the Omicron variant of COVID-19 in Iran. The Iranian administration has banned entry from France, England, Denmark and Norway. In the new decision, which exempts Iranian citizens, entry to Iran from the countries in question is prohibited until further notice. Under the decision, those who stay in France, England, Denmark and Norway for more than 14 days will not be allowed to enter Iran. Iranians coming from these countries will be able to enter the country on the condition of staying in quarantine for 14 days.

On December 25, Iran decided to close all land breaks for 15 days due to Omicron.

43 Omicron incidents in Iran

Mohammad Hashemi, Secretary General of the Public Affairs Unit of the Ministry of Health of Iran, announced that a total of 43 Omicron mutations have been detected throughout the country. Making a statement on his social media account, Haşimi stated that 43 Omicron mutations have been seen throughout the country since 19 December, “17 in Tehran, 5 in Mashhad and Hürmuzgan, 2 in Isfahan, Shiraz and Bushehr, and in Urmia, Elburz, Babil and Erak”. 1, 3 Omicron mutations were detected in Qom and Yazd,” he said.
